Rep. Cunningham Tours Ralph Johnson VA Medical Center
Charleston, S.C. – Today, Congressman Joe Cunningham toured the Ralph Johnson VA Medical Center, which serves over 67,000 Veterans in 21 counties. Cunningham is a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee and was recently appointed to the Subcommittees on Economic Opportunity and Technology Modernization. Prior to the tour of the center, Rep. Cunningham received a briefing from several departments in the Medical Center and met with Ralph Johnson’s administrators and medical professionals.
South Carolina’s First Congressional District is home to the largest veteran population in the state.
“Tens of thousands of veterans call the Lowcountry home. It was an honor to tour the Ralph Johnson VA Medical Center, meet with Lowcountry veterans, and see firsthand the medical services, programs, and treatments they receive,” said Congressman Joe Cunningham. “Lowcountry veterans and their families are owed access to the best and most reliable care, and I look forward to using my seat at the table to ensure their access to critical programs like job training and education, mental health services, and health care.”
