Press Release

Newly-elected Congressman Joe Cunningham was sworn-in today, beginning his first term as the Representative from South Carolina’s Lowcountry. Joe was joined by his wife, Amanda, and their son, Boone, as he reaffirmed his commitment to put Lowcountry over Party.

“This is a tremendous honor that the people of the South Carolina’s 1st District have bestowed upon me, and one that I intend to respect. I have made the commitment to work across the aisle to achieve real results, and I will never waver in upholding that promise. My first priority is to pass a bipartisan bill that re-opens the government immediately.

In Congress, I will work to reinstate the ban on off-shore drilling, protect Lowcountry jobs from damaging tariffs, and fix our ailing infrastructure. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.”
