Director of Constituent Communication:
Representatives Joe Cunningham and Colin Allred seek an experienced and self-motivated shared staffer to run their franked and digital outreach programs. Candidates must be highly organized, proficient in multi-tasking, and able to work collaboratively with two different offices. They must possess superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills. In addition, candidates should be data driven and analytically-minded. Ideal candidates should have some experience with graphic design, digital segmenting, and the skills necessary to communicate to a targeted audience through multiple forms of media.
Responsibilities include creating and managing robust franking plans for each offices, developing digital acquisition strategies, and writing 499s and other targeted direct-to-constituents messages. They are responsible for working with the Communications Directors and Chiefs of Staff of both offices to coordinate messaging, strategy, and to identify new outreach opportunities.
This is not an entry level position. To be considered for the position, candidates must have previous communications and digital experience either on or off Capitol Hill. Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-SC) seeks a Beaufort-based Field Representative to serve as the Congressman’s representative throughout the district. The position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community groups throughout the district, including public and private sector partners, businesses, and advocacy groups. The ideal candidate would have continuous knowledge of leading local issues with respect to stakeholder groups, local governments, and constituencies, and will be expected to maintain awareness of significant events throughout the district in order to propose attendance by the Congressman or staff where appropriate. Field rep candidate will also manage all components of events within his/her territory, prepare briefing materials, communicate with events hosts, and drive/accompany the Congressman to the event. Position requires nontraditional hours, including nights and weekends. Candidates must have reliable transportation. Self-starter and outgoing personality a must.
